Patek Philippe and their Nautilus series have captivated watch enthusiasts’ minds for decades. This artwork is based on the original watch , which in ANCHAN’s eyes, has one of the most attractive shapes and design in the vast ocean of luxury watches. With its smooth octagonal bezel, brushed surface, famous horizontal grooves, two big ears, being the first grand complication in the Nautilus collection,  this particular model evokes a vintage feeling that the artist greatly appreciates.

ANCHAN has spent countless hours over several months refining all the details that compose this modern piece of art. In his authentic style, beneath what seems to the naked eye a simply beautiful artwork lies a hidden myriad of intricate and balanced details referring to the original watch model. Words and expressions such as “Gérald Genta”, “Jumbo”, “Nautilus” among others can only be revealed by a magnifying glass.

ANCHAN, whose real name is Anthony Agrifoglio, is a French artist passionate about details. He is an architect by trade, but an artist at heart. He has been living in Tokyo, the most mesmerising city in the world, for over a decade.

Inspired by traditional Japanese art, ANCHAN dedicates a long time to the details of each of his hand made “line-art” creations. His most prominent works are related to the amazing craftsmanship in the world of horology, which resonates substantially with the accuracy and precision of his approach.

ANCHAN expresses his personality through the conception of hand-drawn, very time-consuming and extremely detailed pieces of art. Above all, he loves to surprise his audience with his unique, yet easily recognisable style. Each creation reflects his belief that “God is in the details”, and depicts an adventure where there is always more than what meets the eye.
