Time Fury P18

From £12990.00

A creation by John-Mikaël Flaux.

The Time Fury P18 has a mad design inspired by the 1950 racing cars (like Ferrari) and also the modern lines of contemporary cars. The Time Fury P18 has only one goal: be the fury of time!

Time Fury P18 is a mechanical clock with a unique concept (like its predecessor the CAR CLOCK) that combines racing cars with the art of watchmaking. The design of each element was created in order to bring together the aesthetics and automotive technology with watchmaking philosophy.

The propulsion of the wheels allows Time Fury P18 to roll at a speed of 13.2 mm / h (31cm per day). The time is readable at the back of the car by floating hour numbers that point the minutes on a graduated sector. The time can be set directly by the back wheels and the winding is done into the left exhaust with a little crank. A discreet transparent pedestal allows it to lift and immobilise the rear wheels.

Designed and manufactured by John-Mikaël Flaux, Time Fury P18 requires one month of craftsmanship to execute and assemble its 256 pieces, following rules of the art of watch-making (polishing, brushing, surface treatment, etc). The main plates and wheels of the mechanism are in polished brass before being galvanised with palladium and the pinion are made in steel.

John-Mikaël Flaux is a young creator specialising in mechanical art of horology. Based in Besançon, France – the city of French watchmaking – he is also an independent watchmaker candidate to the renowned AHCI in Switzerland.

Through speciality, the art of mechanics, he aims to revisit the world of watchmaking by giving it a more poetic and extravagant dimension: “La Guêpe” (a mechanism in the shape of a wasp), the Car Clock and the Time Fury P18 (clocks in racing automobile form), the automaton “the Duel” (a fight between 2 mechanical fencers).
